Sure gives you time to change you mind

Yesterday, the notary asked I come in to pay the registry fees, business capital tax and notary charges. As soon as that is paid, they'll send in the business filing to the government office in another town.

Wait a minute. This was supposed to happen last Monday. That was a week ago. Come to think about it they never said which Monday, they just said I'd get a call on Monday.

Hmm, maybe I'm lucky.

This process of business filing is so slow going here, it seems like it's not even real.

What's good about living in a small town is that you can get anywhere in town from home in a minute and if you've been there once, then they recognize you when you walk in, no need to explain anything. I was able to run into town yesterday and do it all in the morning. I got a bank check for the fees rather than paying cash so I could justify the business expense. I wonder why you have to pay a business capital tax and the business isn't even running yet.

When the filing is returned from the provincial government office complete, the notary will return the papers to the business consultant. He will continue the process to open a business.

As I commented to one friend, the slow business filing process sure gives you time to rethink it all and change you mind a thousand times.
